I have a cat 416B backhoe, it started with the boom cylinder leaking down fast if you pick something up. The cylinder has been rebuilt and we checked and it is not leaking by inside. We replaced the relief valves on the control, that made it a little better but it still leaks down and does not have as much power as it did.

May 28, 2009 · It's a farm backhoe and i found water in the trans and hoping draining will fix it. There are 3 possible entres of water into the trans 1. topping up with contaminated containers 2. breather entee by going through deep water and 3. transmission oil cooler leak if the system is Water Cooled, this is usually everdent by oil in the water however

Oct 13, 2013 · I am replacing the friction disks and plates in the transmission on my 416 Cat. The parts manual shows 6 of each is required. Upon disassembly, I find 6 disks and 7 plates with a plate in contact with the piston on the inside and one in contact with the retainer on the outside.

I was thinking of using the d-max just in a pinch now and again for short distance moving. Often another cdl holder is not around or the big trucks are out on jobs.

Edit: They should be mechanical (linage from the pedal) and lubricated with the fluid in the axle housing. Upper back firewall right under engine hood?

Jul 25, 2014 · The problem I am having is the front loader bucket will not raise unless i pull a lever on the backhoe at the same time. All the other hydraulics work fine including the curl on the loader. Pretty much have to do the work myself as no cat mechanics around here.
